The purpose of this exercise is to identify the emotional beats of the N/NW monologue and practice in-class framing and blocking methods.
Do This:
Work in groups of 4
Identify the emotional beats of the monologue.
Direct the monologue that you printed using the people in your group
After each 'take' discuss with the actor.
Use the on-set protocol of calling the scene each time you rehearse.
Play this monologue 2 ways-
1- stationary camera- set up your frame and move the character within it
2- shot design- consider directing the actor within 'shots' of the scene
